Russian Soul are soul mates, who endeavor for perfection and going forward. It is impossible to imagine the ensemble’s participants isolated from one another, though any of them are wonderful soloists. They inspire the audience with the energy of youth, fervor, and spirituality. Their team spirit is incredible- they find harmonious tunes and interact with each other on an intuition level...
Academician N. Kalinin

Throughout many centuries the depth and mystique of the Russian Soul has been the subject of desperate philosophers - philosophers who choose to not accept such a peculiarity that nobody will ever be able discern the Russian Soul until the Russian Soul itself personally decides to tell its story.

The musical group Russian Soul tells this story by capturing the rich musical culture of Russia. Established in September of 1996 on the stage of the Musical School for Talented Children in Ulyanovsk, its creator and leader, Lidia Larina, succeeded in pulling together different musicians whose one unique sound is distinguished by their special sense of style, intonation harmony, and artistic impression. Audiences throughout the world appreciate the rich Russian culture as well as Russian Souls interpretation of classic, jazz, modern compositions, and country music.

In 1998, Russian Soul was awarded first prize in the 1st International Contest of String Instruments Players held by the “Classical Heritage” Association (Moscow, Russia) and the Grand Prix especially established by the jury of International Competition of Chamber Ensembles held in Italy. In 1999, Russian Soul won an International competition in France and was conferred the Diploma on Outstanding Mastership and Professionalism. Russian Soul’s first album was recorded and issued in France in 2000 with their second CD issued in Moscow in 2000. In 2001 Russian Soul performed concert tours throughout the United States and in 2003 won third prize in the International Competition in Klingenthal (Germany) where they had performed concert tours in Europe. In 2004, Russian Soul won the Grand Prix in International Competition in Teheran (Iran). In 2005 and 2008 Russian Soul participated in the "Cherry Blossom Festival" (Macon, Georgia, USA) and in 2006 and 2007 performed concert tours in the Republic of Korea. In 2008, Russian Soul issued their third CD which represented classical music played jointly with violin and flute players – Sara and Bora Kim from South Korea.

Russian Soul members are proud of being friends and colleagues of such well-known and famous singers including A. Strelchenko (National Artist of Russia), V. Ovsyannikov (National Artist of Russia), R. Ibragimov (National Artist of Russia).
